WHAT IS NDA?

The NDA stands for National Defence Academy, which is: India’s premier joint services training institution for young candidates who aspire to become officers in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The NDA is located at Khadakwasla, near Pune, Maharashtra, India.

The National Defence Academy (NDA) offers engineering degrees, specifically B. Tech, to candidates who join the Air Force and Naval wings. These cadets complete their initial three years at NDA Pune and then pursue their fourth year at the respective academies: Indian Air Force Academy or Indian Naval Academy. The NDA also conducts a written exam (conducted by UPSC) followed by an SSB interview and medical examination for final selection.

• Eligibility:
  Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to be eligible for the Air Force and Naval wings

B. Tech PROGRAMS AT NDA:

The NDA offers B. Tech degrees in various engineering disciplines for cadets joining the Air Force and Naval wings.

• Information Technology

Selection Process:

1. UPSC NDA Exam: Candidates must pass the UPSC-conducted NDA exam.
2. SSB Interview: Successful candidates from the written exam undergo a five-day Services Selection Board (SSB) interview.
3. Medical Examination: A final medical examination ensures candidates are fit for service.

Post-NDA Training:

After three years at NDA, cadets join the respective academies for a year of pre-commissioning training (IMA for Army, AFA for Air Force, and NA for Navy).

NDA graduates can pursue careers as officers in the Indian Armed Forces, with opportunities in various technical and non-technical roles.
