WHAT IS NIFT / NID / UCEED?
1. NIFT – National Institute of Fashion Technology
- What it is:
A top fashion and design institute under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India to select students for undergraduate (B.Des, B.FTech) and postgraduate design courses.
2. NID – National Institute of Design
- What it is:
A premier design school under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry known for its core focus on industrial and communication design to select students for B. Des and M. Des programmes.
3. UCEED – Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design
- What it is:
A national-level design entrance exam conducted by IIT Bombay to admit students into B.Des programs at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur. - Special Note:
UCEED is only the entrance exam – admissions are done through a separate counselling process.
